The Magic Continues: A New Era Dawns in Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre

The world of Encantadia is back, and it’s bringing with it a fresh generation of heroes, a new realm, and a powerful storyline that continues the fantasy saga many Filipinos grew up with. GMA Network is all set to relaunch the iconic series with Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre, premiering on June 16.

At the heart of the story is Terra, portrayed by Bianca Umali. She’s no ordinary Sang’gre, she’s the daughter of Danaya and a human named Theo, raised in the mortal world and living a double life as a superhero. She holds the Earth Gem and steps into her destiny to protect both realms from rising darkness.

But Terra isn’t alone. Joining her are three other elemental warriors: Flamarra (Faith da Silva), keeper of the Fire Gem; Deia (Angel Guardian), the gentle but brave guardian of the Air Gem; and Adamus (Kelvin Miranda), protector of the Water Gem from Lireo and Adamya. Together, they face a chilling new threat: Mitena, played by Rhian Ramos, the vengeful Ice Princess and the new ruler of Lireo, born from the mysterious kingdom of Mine-a-ve.

This continuation also marks a nostalgic reunion. The legendary Sang’gres from the 2016 remake, Glaiza de Castro (Pirena), Kylie Padilla (Amihan), Sanya Lopez (Danaya), and Gabbi Garcia (Alena), are returning, adding layers of depth and legacy to the storyline.

Beyond the enchanted realm, the show also gives life to characters in the human world. Veteran actors like Manilyn Reynes, Ricky Davao, Buboy Garovillo, and Benjie Paras breathe life into the “real world” side of the story, grounding the fantasy in relatable, everyday emotion.

The show also opens the gates to a new magical kingdom, Mine-A-ve, populated by intriguing new characters played by Gabby Eigenmann, Bianca Manalo, and Jon Lucas, among others. Familiar names like Solenn Heussaff (as Cassiopea) and the ever-iconic voice of Imaw (Noel Urbano) complete the ensemble from Encantadia’s mythical lands.

The scale of this series is massive. With an all-star cast, a mix of seasoned actors and rising stars, and a rich, visually striking narrative, Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre is more than just a sequel, it’s a celebration of Filipino fantasy storytelling.

Behind the scenes, the show is in the capable hands of seasoned creators like Creative Director Aloy Adlawan and National Artist Ricky Lee, with direction by Rico Gutierrez and Enzo Williams.

Catch this epic journey unfold weeknights at 8:00 p.m. on GMA Prime and GMA Kapuso Stream, or tune in worldwide via GMA Pinoy TV. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the saga, there's something magical waiting for you.
