BINI Charms San Francisco with an Unforgettable ‘BINIverse’ Night
P-pop girl group BINI turned up the energy in San Francisco during their first-ever Bay Area concert, held Tuesday night at the iconic Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The sold-out crowd, mostly Filipino fans fondly called “Blooms,” enjoyed two hours of catchy vocals, crisp rap verses and dance moves that showcased why BINI’s ‘BINIverse’ tour is a must-see.
The evening kicked off with an explosive performance of their 2024 hit “Salamin, Salamin” that had thousands cheering from the first beat. They followed up with fan favorites like “I Feel Good” and “Lagi,” then paused to introduce themselves one by one, each greeted by deafening screams.
Taking a breather from the high-energy numbers, the eight members, Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Maloi, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena, chatted with fans. Jhoanna playfully mentioned how she stepped off the bus in San Francisco only to be hit by the chilly weather, joking in Tagalog, “sobrang lamig,” or “it’s so cold.”
Aiah also had fun asking the crowd where they were from, name-dropping different parts of the Bay Area. The biggest reaction came when she shouted “Daly City?!”, a place famously home to a large Filipino community.
The show switched gears as BINI serenaded the audience with the heartfelt ballad “Na Na Nandito Lang,” giving everyone a taste of their vocal power. Another highlight came when they sang “Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi” while moving around the venue, surprising lucky fans with up-close moments.
For the grand finale, BINI brought down the house with “Pantropiko,” their massive 2023 hit that has racked up over 109 million views on YouTube.
Before BINI hit the stage, local Bay Area singer Ashley Mehta, who has Filipino and Indian roots, opened the night with a 30-minute set that got the crowd warmed up and ready to sing along.
Next stop for BINI? Seattle! The group is set to perform at the Paramount Theater on Friday, June 20, continuing to spread the ‘BINIverse’ magic across North America.
