Cebu Pacific to Lease Two Aircraft to Saudi Arabia’s Flyadeal in Q3 2025

Cebu Pacific has entered into a strategic partnership with Saudi low-cost carrier Flyadeal through a wet-lease agreement involving two Airbus A320ceo aircraft. The deal is set to begin in the third quarter of 2025.

The timing of the lease aligns with the travel patterns of both airlines. While the third quarter typically sees a decline in passenger traffic within the Philippines, demand for air travel in Saudi Arabia usually spikes during this period. Cebu Pacific plans to make the most of this seasonal difference by leasing out aircraft that would otherwise remain underutilized.

Under the terms of the agreement, Cebu Pacific will provide not only the aircraft but also the operating crew, maintenance services, and insurance. This type of leasing setup allows Flyadeal to quickly boost its fleet without investing in new planes or committing to long-term leases.

Both airlines also hinted at future collaboration beyond this initial agreement. They plan to explore potential commercial partnerships, such as codesharing and interline arrangements, to improve route connectivity and customer reach. Maintenance and engineering support may also be part of the expanded cooperation, paving the way for knowledge sharing and joint operational efforts.

The wet-lease deal highlights a growing trend among budget airlines to optimize aircraft use by responding to seasonal demand shifts across different regions.
