Historical K-Drama ‘Dear Hongrang’ Debuts on Netflix This May

Netflix is adding another must-watch Korean drama to its lineup! Starting May 16, fans of mystery, romance, and period pieces can dive into Dear Hongrang, a captivating new series starring Lee Jae-wook and Jo Bo-ah.

The show kicks off with a mysterious event, the sudden disappearance of a young boy named Hongrang from the influential Sim merchant family. Years later, a man claiming to be the missing Hongrang returns, now fully grown and played by Lee Jae-wook. But instead of a warm welcome, he’s met with suspicion.

Jo Bo-ah plays Jae-yi, Hongrang’s half-sister, who isn’t convinced that the man is truly her long-lost brother. Her doubts spark tension between the two, setting the stage for a gripping tale filled with secrets, emotional twists, and family drama.

Netflix recently dropped the trailer on YouTube, and it teases an intense blend of historical storytelling and mystery. With the growing uncertainty around Hongrang’s identity, viewers can expect plenty of drama and intrigue as the story unfolds.

Lee Jae-wook, who gained popularity through Alchemy of Souls, returns to the small screen with another period drama role, while Jo Bo-ah brings her charm and intensity after appearing in hits like Tale of the Nine Tailed and Military Prosecutor Doberman.

The cast also includes familiar faces like Jung Ga-ram (Love Alarm), Uhm Ji-won (Little Women), Park Byung-eun (Kingdom), and Kim Jae-wook (Her Private Life), making Dear Hongrang even more promising.

For fans who enjoy complex characters, slow-burn romance, and layers of family secrets, Dear Hongrang might just be your next binge-worthy pick.
