Karel Marquez on FHM this November

Karla Ysabel Marquez Santos, better known as Karel Marquez, is the cover girl for FHM this November. She is the daughter of actress Pinky Marquez. Thankfully, the rumors about Madam Auring being on the cover are untrue.

With her princess-like features and a toothpaste ad-worthy smile, young actress Karel Marquez is hard to dislike. In fact, it’s much easier to like her.

Karel has bravely taken on a kontrabida role, playing the sheepish yet scheming Penelope in Berks. As Penelope, she will stop at nothing to steal Javi's (John Prats) heart by getting Gwyneth (Heart Evangelista) out of his way. Despite her villainous character, Karel's eyes alone are enough to make anyone fall in love with her.

"I like my eyes. A lot of people say they're expressive," Karel shares when asked about her best feature. When asked about her beauty icon, she says, "Donita Rose. I love the fact that everything about her is real, nothing manufactured."

Karel’s beauty regimen is simple but effective, perfect for her sensitive skin yet powerful enough to fight pimples and other teen skin impurities. "Just wash your face at least twice a day: when you wake up and before going to sleep. If you have to wear makeup, never sleep with it. Wash it."

Even her mini tote reveals the essentials she needs to keep her look fresh. "I use a wide-tooth paddle brush, and I wave it like a magic wand, saying, 'I’ll die even with the slightest fly-away!'" she laughs.

Her mobile phone, equipped with a high-pixel camera, is always on hand. "I use it like a mirror. When I'm at school or on a shoot, I take a picture of myself so I’ll know when it’s time for a touch-up."

For her naturally plump, pinkish pout, she prefers gloss over lipstick. "Lipstick makes me look older, so I opt for lip gloss because it’s much yummier and gives a better, natural look!" she explains. "Lastly, I just put on loose powder before going out and I’m set."

Her most important beauty secret, however, isn’t something that can be bought. "My best beauty advice: Be natural! I believe beauty comes out naturally, and there's no better way to bring it out than through happiness."
