Ken Chu Confirms He Will Miss F4 Reunion Concert Tour
Fans of F4 received some bittersweet news as Taiwanese actor and singer Ken Chu confirmed that he will not be joining the group’s upcoming reunion concert tour. The announcement came amid swirling rumors that he had been pushed out of the project for discussing the reunion before any official announcement.
In a video posted on his Instagram on December 8, Ken explained that there were never any formal agreements restricting him. He clarified that discussions with Taiwan-based B’in Music, the company organizing the tour, had always been informal talks about intentions rather than signed contracts. Ken added that he only fully realized he would not be part of the tour after seeing social media discussions about the reunion.
“So for this event, I definitely won’t participate,” he said, expressing some regret but asking fans to understand his situation. He also emphasized that F4 was never a legally bound group and that their bond was built on shared memories rather than formal rules.
Ken offered his support to the other members, Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, and Vanness Wu, who will perform on the December 19 to 22 shows at Shanghai’s Mercedes-Benz Arena. He also wished the event to go smoothly and expressed hope for a complete reunion in the future when all four members’ intentions align.
He did not hold back in addressing a B’in Music representative, criticizing the use of “smear tactics” instead of direct communication.
The tour, titled F ✦ Forever City of Stars, will also feature special appearances by Jay Chou and Mayday’s Ashin. F4, also known as Flower Four, first rose to fame in 2001 with the hit Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden, disbanded in 2009, and has reunited sporadically in pre-recorded segments and surprise appearances in recent years.
While Ken Chu’s absence will be felt, fans can still look forward to seeing the remaining members celebrate the legacy of one of Taiwan’s most beloved boy bands.
