Popolo Music Group Launches First-Ever P-Pop Trainee Program in the Philippines
The rise of P-Pop just got a major push.
Popolo Music Group (PMG), a fast-growing independent label founded by Seoul-based entrepreneur Paul “Pooh” Lunt, has opened the country’s very first structured P-Pop trainee program, marking a new chapter for Filipino pop music.
This training system is the first of its kind in the Philippines and is inspired by the proven success of Korea’s K-Pop model. Over a six-month period, selected trainees will go through a rigorous development process that includes training in vocals, dance, language, stage presence, image building, and media handling.
But it’s more than just about dancing in sync or hitting the right notes. PMG’s approach is about shaping future stars who can shine globally, not just for a debut, but for long-term success. The goal? To help Filipino talents step confidently onto the international pop stage.
Auditions are now open to Filipino singers and dancers between the ages of 14 and 25. Applicants must send a 2-minute performance video, featuring either vocals, dance, or both, along with their name, age, location, and contact details to demos(AT)popolomusic(DOT)asia.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a second round for live auditions and interviews before final selections are made.
PMG is already managing a diverse roster of over 50 artists, handling everything from recording to bookings and promotions. With strong connections in Seoul, Tokyo, LA, and Manila, and a team of trainers and producers from countries like the U.S., U.K., South Korea, France, and the Netherlands, the label is clearly thinking globally.
Beyond just launching artists, Popolo Music Group is on a mission to help the Philippines become Asia’s next pop music hotspot. By combining world-class training with a deep respect for Filipino artistry, PMG is laying the foundation for a new wave of homegrown stars with international reach.
