‘Pinapatawad na Kita’: Marian Rivera’s Ex-Classmate Breaks Silence on School Fight
Ever wondered what Marian Rivera was like before she became showbiz royalty? Recently, a Facebook post from Ivy Manzon-Bo, who claims to be Marian’s former high school seatmate, went viral after she spilled some old school drama, literally involving softdrinks and hair-pulling.
Ivy decided to share her story after catching Marian’s recent interview where the actress laughed about getting into fights back in the day. According to Ivy, their infamous clash happened way back in 1998 when they were second-year students at SFACS Bayanan.
She said Marian confronted her over a rumor that sparked a heated argument, which escalated into a classic catfight. Things got so out of hand that Ivy ended up drenched in softdrinks and both girls landed in the principal’s office. Their punishment? A week-long suspension and cleaning the school canteen instead of playing for the varsity team.
Despite the teen drama, Ivy made it clear there’s no bitterness left. She even posted a lighthearted forgiveness for her once feisty classmate, writing, “Pinapatawad na kita, Marian Rivera Gracia. Hahaha.”
Before the chaos, they were close friends, even seatmates since their last names were next to each other on the roll call. They danced together, played sports, and hung out until a class gossip ruined their bond.
Surprisingly, the two bumped into each other again in college at De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, where, according to Ivy, Marian confronted her in a classroom once more about the same old rumor. But Ivy just brushed it off, saying, “High school pa lang issue na yan, hanggang ngayon issue mo pa din?”
Years later, any leftover awkwardness faded. Their final meet-up was backstage at GMA’s SOP when Ivy worked with bands like 6Cycle Mind and Callalily, while Marian was making waves as Marimar.
In the end, Ivy reminded everyone that people grow up and move on, and so should everyone else. Her post ended on a cheerful note: “People change. We all change as we age. I hope my little story entertained you. Hahaha.”
Sometimes, a bit of nostalgia and humor are all we need to see our younger selves for what they really were, just kids figuring things out.
