Joross Gamboa Earns His Degree in Biblical Studies
Actor and comedian Joross Gamboa just hit a major personal milestone, and it has nothing to do with the entertainment industry. On June 8, he took to social media to proudly announce that he had graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies from Global Life University, capping off years of dedication to his faith journey. Wearing his black toga with a big smile, Joross simply wrote, "Thank you Lord. All glory to God!"
Global Life University, where he earned his degree, is known for training future leaders rooted in biblical teachings. The school offers a progressive curriculum that starts with practical ministry, continues with foundational biblical studies, and eventually leads to a Theology degree before students complete their final year to receive an AB in Biblical Studies.
Many of his friends and fellow celebrities jumped into the comments to send their congratulations, including Dennis Trillo, EA Guzman, Yasmin Kurdi, Shaira Diaz, Juancho Trivino, and Allen Dizon. Clearly, the love and support for Joross go beyond the screen.
While he's been a part of blockbuster films like Rewind, Hello, Love, Goodbye, and The Hows of Us, Joross has always remained grounded. In a past interview, he humbly addressed the "lucky charm" tag that fans have given him for frequently starring in successful movies. “I’m grateful, but I don’t think it’s luck,” he said. “I believe I’m blessed to be part of these films, and I’m even more thankful that I can bless others through my work.”
He sees his job not as stardom but as a calling. He added that actors are no different from people in other jobs. The only difference is that they're seen on screen.
Joross got his start in 2004 as part of Star Circle Quest, a reality-based talent search on ABS-CBN. He finished as second runner-up in a batch that included Hero Angeles and Sandara Park. Fast forward to today, and he's not only built a solid career in entertainment but has also grown stronger in his spiritual life.
When he turned 40 last year, he shared a powerful message on social media: “Life doesn’t begin at 40. It begins when you surrender your life to Jesus Christ.” His words reflect the deep sense of purpose and gratitude that continues to guide him in every aspect of life.
