Ice Seguerra Shares the Passing of Beloved Mother, Mommy Caring

Singer and actor Ice Seguerra recently announced the passing of his mother, Caridad “Mommy Caring” Yamson Seguerra, a familiar face in showbiz circles. She died on the morning of June 27, 2025, at 7:54 AM. While the cause of her death was not disclosed, Ice turned to social media to express his grief and celebrate the life of the woman who shaped much of his journey.

For those who have followed Ice’s career since his Eat Bulaga! days in the late '80s, Mommy Caring has been a constant figure behind the scenes. More than just a supportive parent, she was Ice’s partner in building a career in entertainment that has lasted decades.

In a touching tribute, Ice described his mom as a strong, gentle, and ever-present soul. Whether it was preparing his favorite food or offering a soothing massage after a long day, she made sure to show up no matter how busy life got. She wasn’t just supportive professionally but personally as well, loving Ice unconditionally and embracing his identity with open arms.

“She was my fiercest protector,” Ice shared. “She accepted me and embraced me for who I am, especially who I am not.”

To Ice, Mommy Caring wasn’t just a mother, she was his teacher, his cheerleader, and his emotional anchor. He credited her for instilling strength in him during difficult times and reminded himself of a promise he once made: to be brave in the face of life’s challenges, just as she had taught him.

With the announcement of her passing, Ice also asked for prayers for their family, especially for his late mother’s soul. He expressed thanks to all who have been part of Mommy Caring’s life and to those who treated her like a second mother.

“She’s with Daddy now,” Ice wrote, referring to his late father, Dick Seguerra, who passed away in November 2020. “And that gives me comfort.”

Mommy Caring leaves behind her children Ice and Juan Carlos Miguel. Details of the wake are expected to be announced later.
