Gerald Anderson Says All Is Well with Julia Barretto, Clears Up Breakup Rumors

Gerald Anderson has finally spoken up about the swirling rumors that he and Julia Barretto have gone their separate ways. During a recent sit-down with Toni Gonzaga on her YouTube show, Gerald made it clear that there’s no truth to the breakup buzz. “We’re okay,” he said simply.

The gossip started after fans noticed that the couple had stopped posting about each other on Instagram. But Gerald explained that social media shouldn't be the only basis for judging a relationship’s status. In fact, he even shared that he had just dropped Julia off at the airport before the interview, she was on her way to Dubai.

According to Gerald, Julia never deleted their photos on her feed either. He pointed out how quick people are to assume things just because of what they see (or don’t see) online. “It’s sad that it has become the public’s basis,” he said.

Despite the challenges they’ve faced as a couple, Gerald emphasized that those tough times have only made their bond stronger. He described their five-year relationship as filled with “bumps in the road” that turned out to be blessings in disguise. Julia, he said, has shown grace, maturity, and emotional strength, qualities that make her someone he deeply admires.

Gerald also credited Julia for teaching him about what it means to be true partners in a relationship. He called her loving and nurturing, even admitting that sometimes she seems more mature than him.

When asked about marriage, Gerald admitted he’s already thinking seriously about settling down. He’s 36 now, and as he joked, “I need to have kids already.” Even his father, according to Toni, is rooting for Julia to be “the one.”

The conversation also touched on Gerald’s past controversies. He addressed the long-standing labels some people have put on him, like being a “cheater” or “womanizer.” He firmly denied ever cheating on any of his former partners. “If they were my girlfriend, then they were really my girlfriend. I was loyal,” he said.

Still, he owned up to mistakes in his previous relationships, saying he could’ve been a better partner and person. At one point, he even thought about leaving showbiz altogether due to the negativity he was facing. Although he didn’t name names, it was clear he was referring to the difficult time surrounding his breakup with Bea Alonzo.

What kept him from quitting? “I can’t feed my family with hate comments,” he said. “And what kind of person would I be if I gave up like that?”
