Filipino actor and director Ricky Davao has died after a quiet battle with cancer. He was 63 years old and would have turned 64 later this May.
Ricky had been in and out of St. Luke’s Hospital since December 2024, and concerns about his health grew when he was absent from public events following the wake of his former mother-in-law, Pilita Corrales.
Known for his versatile roles in film, television, and theater, Ricky had a career that spanned decades. He recently starred in movies like Monday First Screening, Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan, and Sinagtala.
He was once married to actress Jackielou Blanco, with whom he had three children. In recent years, he introduced his partner, Mayeth Malca, to the public.
Ricky’s passing marks the end of an era for Philippine entertainment, as fans and fellow artists mourn the loss of a respected and beloved performer.
