So Ji-sub Returns to the Screen in Netflix's Intense New Action Series Mercy for None

Fans of Korean dramas and action thrillers are in for a treat this June as veteran actor So Ji-sub takes on a powerful new role in Netflix's upcoming series, Mercy for None.

In this gritty new show, Ji-sub plays Ki-jun, a man who left behind a dark past in the criminal world more than a decade ago. He had moved on from that life until tragedy pulled him back. After the shocking death of his younger brother, once a high-ranking member of their former organization, Ki-jun is left with no choice but to return and uncover what really happened.

Netflix has already dropped a gripping teaser and poster for the show, setting the mood for what’s to come. The teaser hints at brutal confrontations and emotional tension, as Ki-jun picks up his old weapon of choice, a baseball bat, and starts digging into the truth behind his brother’s mysterious death. The poster shows him standing alone in a narrow alley, surrounded by enemies he’s taken down, with blood on the ground and revenge clearly in his eyes.

At 47, So Ji-sub continues to prove why he’s one of South Korea’s most respected actors. Known for memorable roles in Memories of Bali, Master’s Sun, Oh My Venus, and My Secret Terrius, he's once again showing his range with a character that’s both broken and dangerous.

The series also boasts a strong supporting cast. Among them are Huh Joon-ho, Gong Myung, Choo Young-woo, Ahn Gil-kang, Tiger Lee, and Jo Han-chul. Fans can also expect special appearances by Cha Seung-won and Lee Jun-hyuk, which only adds more excitement to the already buzz-worthy show.

With revenge, emotion, and raw action at its core, Mercy for None might just be one of the year’s standout Korean series.
