Gene Padilla is clearly not brushing off the online drama surrounding his niece Claudia Barretto’s wedding. In fact, he's wearing it, literally. The comedian recently got the phrase “Mr. Uninvited” tattooed on his arm, turning a controversial label into a permanent statement.
The tattoo, which Gene proudly shared in a Facebook video, was his response to critics who claimed he had no right to complain about wedding matters since he wasn't even on the guest list. Gene, however, leaned into the label with humor, saying the tattoo was dedicated to his bashers. “Since you gave me the name, let’s make it official,” he joked.
This all started after Claudia and her longtime partner Basti Lorenzo tied the knot on April 8 in an intimate ceremony. Gene didn’t hold back on social media, expressing disappointment over how his brother, Dennis Padilla, Claudia’s father, was treated. He felt Dennis should’ve walked the bride down the aisle, as is traditionally done.
But Claudia’s mom, Marjorie Barretto, had a different version. She clarified in an interview that Dennis had agreed not to walk Claudia if that was her wish, and if he couldn’t respect that, he wouldn’t have been invited at all. As for Gene, Marjorie made it clear: he was never invited in the first place. Only Dennis and their mother, Catalina Dominguez, were on the list.
Despite Marjorie’s explanations, Gene continued engaging the public with posts—this time selling shirts with “MU” and “Mr. Uninvited” printed on them. Some online users saw this as his way of poking fun at the controversy, while others felt it showed he still hadn't moved on.
Regardless of where people stand, Gene’s latest tattoo is proof that he’s not afraid to laugh at himself and take control of the narrative, bashers and all.
