SB19 Drops Surprise Music Videos for 'Dungka' and 'Time'

SB19, the talented Filipino supergroup, surprised their fans with the unexpected release of music videos for their tracks "Dungka" and "Time." Both songs are part of their extended play Simula at Wakas, the final chapter in a trilogy that began with Pagsibol in 2021 and continued with Pagtatag! in 2023. These tracks were released under Sony Music Entertainment and 1Z Entertainment.

The music video for “Dungka” was directed by Kerbs Balagtas of YouMeUs MNL and aims to showcase the diversity within the group, highlighting the distinct qualities of each member. The group explained that they wanted to capture their varied personalities and the energy they share. The video brings in people from different backgrounds to celebrate the beauty of those differences. As they shared in a press release, the goal was to show how unique and special each person is.

The video features a star-studded cast, including Mimiyuuuh, Maymay Entrata, Alodia Gosiengfiao, Sassa Gurl, Jayat, Kween Yasmin, Malupiton, Ghost Wrecker, Shehyee, Smugglaz, Pat Lasaten, Agnes Reoma, and the ever-popular "It's Showtime" host-comedian Vice Ganda. The group mentioned that when the idea of involving Vice Ganda came up, it felt like a perfect fit. Her strong public presence and relatable personality matched the message SB19 wanted to convey.

“Dungka!” carries a powerful message of change and empowerment, reflecting the calls for transformation happening in society today. The video depicts SB19 leading a movement, with a focus on the streets where real change often begins. The group brought in other artists and public figures who share a similar passion for pushing for change. SB19 expressed how everything fell into place with this collaboration, from the concept to the message, as they emphasized that movements for change are for everyone, regardless of their background or position.

On the other hand, the music video for “Time,” directed by 1032 Lab, dives deep into the concept of time and its fleeting nature. The group shared that the main goal was not only to create something visually stunning but to clearly communicate the importance of cherishing the time we have with the people we care about. Time is a universal issue, they pointed out, and how we choose to spend it impacts our lives. They also reflected on how distractions and shifting priorities often cause us to waste precious time.

In the video, SB19 encourages their audience to use their time wisely before it slips away, as they reminded everyone that we’re all running out of time. Their message is simple yet profound: make the most of your time and appreciate the moments that truly matter.

SB19 is gearing up for their Simula At Wakas world tour, set to begin on May 31 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. Following their concert in the Philippines, the group—comprising Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin—will perform in other Asian countries, the United States, and the Middle East.
