‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ Set for a Big Comeback This April

After two years away from television screens, the beloved drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) is officially making its return. Fans can start watching new episodes on April 24 through iWantTFC, and just two days later, it will also air on A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, and the Kapamilya Channel.

The exciting announcement came straight from MMK’s iconic host, Charo Santos-Concio, during the ABS-CBN Ball last Friday night. She shared her happiness over the show's comeback, not only for her hardworking team but also for the many loyal viewers who have stayed connected to MMK through the years.

“In my heart, I always believed that MMK would come back,” Santos-Concio said warmly. “Our loyal audience and even the younger generation have been waiting to hear more real-life stories from our Kapamilyas. So many Gen Z kids grew up watching MMK with their parents and grandparents. I'm just really happy that they recognize MMK for its heartfelt storytelling.”

Charo also gave fans a little sneak peek of what’s coming up in the new season. She revealed that one of the first episodes will tell the life story of Sofronio, with talented young actor Elijah Canlas playing the lead role. Another early episode will focus on the life of one of the members of the P-pop girl group BINI.

Besides MMK, Charo has a busy schedule ahead. She’s continuing her role as Tindeng in the hit primetime series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo and is also preparing to return to the big screen. Her new movie Only We Know, a light romance-drama where she stars opposite Dingdong Dantes, is already getting a lot of buzz.

Charo’s last film was Kun Maupay Man It Panahon with Daniel Padilla. When asked about her ongoing work in TV and film, she smiled and said, "Why not, right? There's no such thing as retirement. As long as we’re alive, there’s always something new to learn and something new to enjoy. And honestly, I’m just having fun."

Talking about Only We Know, Charo shared that she’s proud of the project and teased that the movie carries a beautiful love story that audiences will surely enjoy.

Maalaala Mo Kaya officially returns on April 24 on iWantTFC, and on April 26 on A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, and Kapamilya Channel. Meanwhile, Only We Know is set to hit theaters on June 11.
