The Miss Universe Philippines 2025 preliminary event lit up the stage on April 28, as 66 stunning candidates graced the runway in the much-awaited evening gown competition. It was a night full of poise and fashion, where several contestants left a lasting impression through their style, confidence, and creativity.
One of the standout moments came from Muntinlupa's Winwyn Marquez. Wearing a glittering strapless gown with fringe details by Carlo Angelo Niu, she truly made a statement. Her look, which highlighted both glamour and grace, quickly captured attention and was later highlighted on her Instagram page.
Another scene-stealer was Baguio's Gwendoline Meliz Soriano. Her gown, a silver off-shoulder piece with blue accents by Michael Miguel, was inspired by the essence of her hometown, offering both elegance and emotional connection.
Chelsea Fernandez from Sultan Kudarat turned heads in a bold teal gown with a high slit and a sparkling neck scarf, designed by Leo Almodal. Her outfit gave off a dramatic and regal vibe, perfect for the stage.
Taguig’s Katrina Llegado went for a sleek, futuristic touch in a silver-patterned gown by Pablo Mendez, standing out with a deep V neckline that sparkled under the lights.
Other memorable looks came from Maiko Ibarde of Benguet, who wore a sheer silver number also by Almodal, and Juliana Acut Fresado from Iligan, who impressed in a gold and yellow creation by Jian Lasala. The gown featured a flowing yellow wrap that added movement and flair.
Laguna’s Eloisa Jauod wore a lemon yellow gown with fringe accents, while Taylor Marie de Luna from Aklan shimmered in a red-to-white ombre piece with an elegant draped arm design.
Ahtisa Manalo from Quezon showed off a bright yellow cape gown by Val Taguba with eye-catching cutouts and embellishments. Meanwhile, Siniloan, Laguna’s Yllana Aduana sparkled in a bold orange gown with intricate embellishments, also from Almodal.
Apart from the evening gown portion, the preliminary round also featured the swimsuit competition and one-on-one interviews, all of which play a crucial role in determining who makes it to the semifinals.
Fans can look forward to more dazzling moments as the competition continues. The national costume segment is scheduled for April 30, alongside the charity gala. Then, all eyes will be on the coronation night happening May 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
