In an exclusive interview on 24 Oras last June 8, Yilmaz Bektas responded to questions about his custody plans for his two daughters, Lorin and Venice, saying that as long as Ruffa Gutierrez is a decent mother, he has no intention of separating them from her. He emphasized that he has no issue with his children living in the Philippines or anywhere else, as long as they are safe and happy.
Yilmaz expressed his deep love for his daughters, even though they are separated, and stated that whenever they need him, he will be there for them right away. Regarding the allegations of abuse, Yilmaz clarified that he decided to divorce Ruffa not because of physical violence, but as part of a personal decision, and he believes Ruffa would agree with him. He also avoided blaming Annabelle Rama, Ruffa’s mother, for the breakup, acknowledging that Annabelle may be upset but still refused to apologize to her or anyone else for the situation. Yilmaz concluded by asserting that he owed no apologies to anyone, especially his mother-in-law.
