Pops Fernandez confirmed reports that she spent her 40th birthday with actor Jomari Yllana. The couple flew to Bangkok on December 12 and returned two days later.
After her highly publicized separation from former husband Martin Nievera, Pops has chosen to keep her personal life private. In an interview on S-Files on December 24, she shared, "I’m very private when it comes to my personal life. It’s less complicated when not everyone knows. I’m wise enough to get to know a person and figure out if it’s going to work."
Pops also addressed rumors about her relationship with Jomari, saying it doesn't bother her that they don’t spend much time together. "What matters is my work and taking care of my kids. He knows exactly what I do and I don’t hear any complaints," she explained.
When asked about Jomari’s Christmas gift to her, she smiled and replied, "Secret."
Currently, Pops is busy promoting ZsaZsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh, where she plays Queen Femina, ZsaZsa Padilla’s character’s arch-nemesis. She expressed excitement about the film, saying, "I’m very flattered. People didn’t expect my character to be like this. It’s definitely a different Pops Fernandez as Queen Femina."
At 40, Pops is more confident in herself. "When I was younger, I was too sheltered by my mom and scared to think for myself. I got married quickly. Now, I’m more confident about things in my life and enjoying it more."
She added, "I want to live each day to the fullest. I no longer pressure myself. I don’t expect anything. If it happens, it happens, and no regrets."
