LTFRB Moves to Probe Driver Over Alleged Remarks on Xyriel Manabat Post
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board is set to require a ride-hailing driver to explain his side after allegedly making inappropriate comments about actress Xyriel Manabat.
According to the agency, a show-cause order will be issued to the driver within the day, giving him the chance to respond before any decision on possible penalties is made.
The issue started circulating online after a post from an account named “Boss Toyo Mansi” drew criticism from netizens. The post included a selfie with Manabat and a caption that users found inappropriate. It later escalated after further comments were allegedly made that were considered indecent by many online users.
The incident quickly gained attention, with fans and netizens calling it out and saying the remarks crossed the line. Manabat herself responded, saying she would not ignore the situation and emphasizing that such comments should not be treated as entertainment or casual content.
In response, Grab Philippines issued an apology to the actress and confirmed that the driver involved has been placed under preventive suspension while the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities are now expected to look into the case further as part of their review process, with possible sanctions depending on the outcome of the driver’s explanation.
