Is Marian Rivera Moving to ABS-CBN?

Every now and then, the same question pops up in showbiz circles, will Marian Rivera ever leave GMA Network and transfer to ABS-CBN?

The short answer, not likely.

Despite the rumors that keep resurfacing over the years, Marian has consistently made it clear that she is staying where she is. She has openly said that she is happy as a Kapuso, pointing to the strong support she has received and the steady stream of projects throughout her career.

That said, recent buzz has been fueled by an upcoming movie project. Marian and her husband Dingdong Dantes are reportedly set to star in another film under Star Cinema, the same studio behind their 2023 hit Rewind. That film turned out to be a massive success, becoming the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time, so it is no surprise that fans are excited about a follow-up.

Still, doing a film with ABS-CBN’s movie arm is very different from switching networks entirely. Marian has actually been open to collaborations like this in the past, as long as the project feels right. But when it comes to leaving GMA, her answer has stayed the same for more than a decade.

Her history with GMA runs deep. From her breakout role in MariMar to portraying iconic characters like Darna, she has built her career under the network. She also spent years hosting Tadhana, further strengthening her connection with Kapuso viewers.

Even in recent years, Marian has stayed active. She returned to television with My Guardian Alien and earned critical recognition for her performance in Balota, which won her Best Actress at Cinemalaya. She also appeared as a judge on Stars on the Floor, showing a different side of her on screen.

With all of these projects and milestones, it is easy to see why she has chosen to stay loyal to her home network. While crossover projects with ABS-CBN are possible, a full transfer does not seem to be on the table anytime soon.

For now, it looks like the “Primetime Queen” is exactly where she wants to be, and fans can expect to keep seeing her on GMA for the foreseeable future.
