GMA News Is Back, Network Drops ‘Integrated’ Branding
After a few years of using a newer identity, GMA Integrated News is officially going back to its original name, GMA News.
The change was confirmed during a recent broadcast of 24 Oras, where anchors Mel Tiangco, Vicky Morales, and Emil Sumangil shared the update on air. Along with the name, the network is also bringing back its long-time slogan “Serbisyong Totoo,” replacing the more recent “News Authority ng Filipino.”
While the shift may feel sudden to some viewers, subtle changes have actually been happening behind the scenes for weeks. From on-air graphics to digital platforms, the network has been slowly moving away from the “Integrated News” branding.
Sources say the decision came from new leadership under Michelle Seva, who stepped in as Officer-in-Charge after the early retirement of Oliver Victor Amoroso. Seva has been with the network since the late 1990s, and insiders say her focus is on reconnecting with what made the brand strong in the first place.
The “GMA Integrated News” name was introduced in 2022 as part of a push to highlight the network’s multi-platform approach, combining TV, radio, digital, and regional coverage into one system. It also came with a new tagline that aimed to reflect a broader mission and wider reach.
However, not everyone felt the change was necessary. Some within the organization reportedly questioned the direction, saying the original brand already had strong recognition and trust among viewers. For many, “GMA News” and “Serbisyong Totoo” were already enough.
Now, the network seems to be leaning back into that familiarity. The return to its original name suggests a renewed focus on identity, simplicity, and the connection it has built with audiences over the years.
