Batang Quiapo Might End Earlier Than Expected
Fans of FPJ's Batang Quiapo may have to face the possibility that the long running action drama could sign off earlier than planned. The show is currently airing on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and TV5, and was originally expected to wrap up around February or March 2026. An insider, however, has shared that the ending might be pushed forward, which explains why several characters have recently been making their exits.
The series first premiered on February 13, 2023, and since then, it has been one of the most followed local dramas. But the sudden talk of an earlier finale has sparked concern, especially because no official announcement has been released by the networks involved.
Many viewers believe the issue might be linked to the growing tension between ABS-CBN and TV5. On December 4, 2025, ABS-CBN confirmed that TV5 had sent them a notice ending their TV Content Supply Agreement. The termination was reportedly due to unsettled payments. ABS-CBN denied the claim that they intentionally delayed payment and explained that the company has been struggling financially ever since losing its broadcast franchise. According to their statement, revenue loss forced them into their first major financial setback since the Martial Law era, and although some earnings have improved, they are still operating at a loss.
Despite this rough patch between the two companies, speculation has started to spread about Coco Martin possibly working on future projects under Manny V. Pangilinan's group. The actor had a meeting with Pangilinan back on October 23, 2025, long before TV5 issued the termination notice to ABS-CBN. Some fans think this could be a sign of new collaborations ahead, even if Batang Quiapo reaches its end sooner than expected.
For now, loyal viewers are waiting for an official statement, hoping the beloved series will still run as originally planned.
