Claudine Barretto Seeks Help from NBI Over Threats Amid Family Rift
Actress Claudine Barretto has decided to involve the National Bureau of Investigation after claiming she received threats linked to her current conflict with siblings Marjorie and Mito Barretto.
In a recent interview with Jobert Sucaldito and Chaps Manansala, Claudine shared that while she never intended to go public with the family feud, the situation pushed her to act for her safety and her children’s well-being.
Claudine revealed she has already issued a cease and desist letter but stopped short of naming who received it. She expressed her fear that whether the threats are real or not, she refuses to take chances when it comes to protecting her kids.
The rift appears to have grown after Claudine worked on a project with Gene Padilla, who previously made headlines for calling out Marjorie’s daughter Claudia over her relationship with their father Dennis Padilla. According to Claudine, some family members are now blaming her for feeding information to showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin about Dennis and Marjorie’s past issues, an allegation Claudine denied outright.
She insisted she has no reason to betray Marjorie by siding with Dennis and said it’s unfair for her brother to accuse her of blackmail or defamation. What hurts more for Claudine is how she felt everything was fine between them before she suddenly became a target again.
Claudine made it clear she’s done tolerating hurtful rumors like being labeled a “drug addict,” which she says her brother tried to revive. She told their mother, Inday, about her legal plans and said that other siblings are backing her up.
The actress grew emotional as she reminded everyone that she’s no longer the same Claudine who would just stay quiet and endure being bullied. She apologized to supporters for dragging family matters into the open but said she’s determined to fight for her rights and her children’s peace of mind.
Responding to those who say she’s being disrespectful to her elders, Claudine firmly said respect must be earned and not demanded. She ended her statement by reminding her siblings that they owe her, not the other way around.
