Jiggly Caliente Receives an Outpouring of Love After Undergoing Leg Amputation
Fans and fellow queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race are rallying behind Jiggly Caliente with heartfelt messages of love and support following the news that she recently had part of her right leg amputated.
The family of the Drag Race Philippines judge shared the update through a statement on Instagram. They revealed that Jiggly, whose real name is Bianca Castro, had faced a serious health issue in recent weeks. A severe infection landed her in the hospital, ultimately leading to the amputation of a significant portion of her right leg.
As she focuses on recovery, her loved ones shared that Jiggly will be stepping away from public appearances, including the upcoming season of Drag Race Philippines. They’ve also asked for some privacy during this time but welcomed uplifting messages through her social media to help lift her spirits.
And her Drag Race family did exactly that.
Michelle Visage, a longtime judge on the original U.S. version of the show, left a warm comment saying, “We love you so much my sweet jiggles and we are praying with all we’ve got.” Season six winner Bianca Del Rio also reached out with love, calling her “jiggles” — a nickname clearly shared with affection by many in the community.
Closer to home, her Drag Race Philippines sisters were just as vocal. Contestants like Eva Le Queen and Marina Summers referred to her as “ate,” a Filipino term meaning older sister. Eva wrote, “Love you ate! You will always have a home in 🇵🇭. Sending prayers of light and healing your way,” while Marina added, “Love you ate 🤍 Sending all love to you and your family! We are here for youuu!”
Scrolling through her comment section feels like walking through a room full of friends, all sending her strength. It’s clear that Jiggly holds a special place in the hearts of many, ever since her first appearance in Drag Race season four. She returned for All Stars season six and later became a judge on Drag Race Philippines when it launched in 2022.
Her role as a judge wasn’t just notable — it was groundbreaking. Alongside KaladKaren Davila, Jiggly was part of the first panel in Drag Race history to feature two openly trans judges as full-time members.
Jiggly has always brought warmth, humor, and authenticity to the stage and screen. And now, during one of the most challenging moments in her life, that same love she gave out is coming back to her a hundredfold.
